Werner & Pfleiderer Bakery Technologies wins iba trophy innovation award
Dinkelsbühl, 20.09.2018 – The new e-learning tool WP E‑NSTRUCTOR from Werner & Pfleiderer Bakery Technologies won the “iba trophy” innovation award at the iba 2018, the leading international trade fair for the baking industry. Every three years, an independent jury of scientists, practitioners and members of the trade press presents this coveted award to outstanding technical developments and solutions for the bakery trade.
The new WP E‑NSTRUCTOR convinced the jury because it enables a whole new form of professional training in the field of bakery technology. Employees in the bakery trade can experience for the first time workplace-related learning that is tailored to their respective knowledge requirements or to a specific situation. The learning content is available any time and anywhere via mobile devices. In Munich, Michael Wippler, President of the Zentralverband des Deutschen Bäckerhandwerks (Central Association of the German Bakery Trade), handed over the iba trophy to Andreas Fuchs, Head of Technical Service at Werner & Pfleiderer Bakery Technologies, and company owner Jürgen Horstmann. “We are always striving to develop highly efficient technology for our customers, including digital solutions such as the WP E‑NSTRUCTOR. We thus provide mobile e-learning in small artisan businesses, so that employees can be trained and further educated efficiently, flexibly and cost-effectively,” said Andreas Fuchs, who as Head of Technical Service is responsible for the development of the E‑NSTRUCTOR.
Knowledge gained on the spot
In everyday work, the WP E‑NSTRUCTOR delivers, for example, knowledge tailored to a specific situation. If a machine needs to be serviced or an error message occurs, the employee simply scans the QR code or barcode attached to the machine or oven, and thus gains access to the WP E‑NSTRUCTOR. This automatically provides him or her with the information required for carrying out the respective maintenance or service work. Alternatively, there is the option of attaching transmitters to the machines (edubeacon technology). The transmitters independently identify the recipient and offer an individual compilation of learning media depending on the employee’s learning status, role and task.
Efficient and cost-effective learning
Digital and mobile instead of manual lecture and classroom training: WP E‑NSTRUCTOR signifies a paradigm shift in professional training in the bakery industry. The advantage: knowledge no longer needs to be “stockpiled” in a very short time, but is available at any time, provided in small sessions and for specific requirements. And WP E‑NSTRUCTOR saves time and money by eliminating the need to travel and stay overnight for trainings at other locations.
