Innovative: Sports car and bread system

WP Haton is always known for innovative Bread lines and, most recently, for the best electric sports car

After extensive testing on the track at Schiphol Airport the winner of the competition ESCBO (Electric Sports Car Build-Off) stands: the joint team of WP Haton and Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven.

An initiative of Siemens Netherlands, four universities and three companies had been working for nine months on a new generation of electric cars. All teams were equipped with the same body kit and the necessary accessories like spoilers and bumpers.

Points were awarded by the jury of experts for intelligent and challenging designs. In addition to this, security, operating radius and energy consumption were important factors. The aim of the competition is to convey to young people the fun of electrical engineering and to inspire them for a technical career.

As a manufacturer of bakery machinery WP Haton had accepted the challenge in this unfamiliar field of electric mobility to develop new ideas. 16 employees from Haton participated in their spare time and they celebrated together with the students in their team for the success of their electric sports car.
